It has a wide range of features, including many skins and extensions.[2]
It has less ads than other wiki farms, such as Fandom.
Many great wikis, such as the Anti-Wikia Alliance,[3] Winx Club Wiki, Weirdcyclopedia (before December 2022), Sanrio Wiki, etc.
The staff are helpful when they're around, which is unfortunately not often.
Although it isn't on the latest update of MediaWiki, it is still on a pretty up-to-date version and is leagues ahead of EditThis.info or Wiki-Site.[4]
Bad Qualities
People have been unable to create wikis on the platform for nearly four years as of August 2024; this is mostly because it took two and a half years for ShoutWiki to upgrade to MediaWiki 1.35, so long that the next LTS version, MediaWiki 1.39, released in the meantime.
ShoutWiki is critically understaffed, only having two staff members that are sporadically active named Jack Phoenix and Saftzie; consequently, support times are very slow, often taking months or even years.
Its servers are slower than you would expect and have stopped functioning at random points in the past.
