TV Tropes is an wiki for tropes commonly found in media. It was founded in April 2004 from a thread on a now-defunct Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan forum known as Buffistas.org.
Why It Rocks
- The site is a very useful tool for finding different tropes found in media.
- Many of the website's pages are very well written and filled with clever humor.
- Many of the tropes have subsections, including the "Playing With" sections that helps explain how different tropes are used.
- Many of the pages about media also have subsections, including funny moments, heartwarming moments, tear jerker moments, nightmare fuel moments and even individual recaps of episodes.
- The website has a particular system for creating a trope to prevent unnecessary tropes from flooding the wiki.
- The wiki has fan forums where people can discuss media.
The Only Bad Quality
- The wiki's software is very hard to use, making it difficult to edit pages.
