Uncyclopedia is a wiki that parodies Wikipedia. Founded in 2005 by Chronarion and Stillwaters, Uncyclopedia was sold to Fandom (then known as Wikia) in 2006; it became independent again in 2019 when Fandom didn't want to host it anymore due to some of its content and shut it down.
Why It's Funny
- It's the original parody wiki; it set the bar for what makes good parody and inspired the creation of many other satirical wikis, such as Satirapedia, Weirdcyclopedia etc.
- Its style of comedy and Happyness has held up very well ever since its founding; many pages can still get a laugh or two.
- It doesn't just dedicate itself to being a parody of Wikipedia; it also parodies other Wikimedia projects (such as Wikinews) and even parodies game sites with UnGames.
- The logo is also funny and it looks like a potato.
Intentionally Bad Qualities
- Some of its content can be offensive to those who aren't used to black/Dark comedy.
- Much like Wikipedia, there can be some inappropriate and adult images found on the wiki.
