People have been unable to create wikis on the platform for nearly four years as of August 2024; this is mostly because it took two and a half years for ShoutWiki to upgrade to MediaWiki 1.35, so long that the next LTS version, MediaWiki 1.39, released in the meantime.
ShoutWiki is critically understaffed, only having two staff members that are sporadically active named Jack Phoenix and Saftzie; consequently, support times are very slow, often taking months or even years.
Additionally, Lewis Cawte, another ShoutWiki staff member, can be extremely rude to other users and will completely neglect them in whatever dire situation they're in.
Almost none of the staff members even bother to deal with disruptive users on any wiki, which often causes them to collapse and decay because of this.
Its servers are slower than you would expect and have stopped functioning at random points in the past.
